Physical Cinema Festival invites music-lovers and runners to join our cinematic music runs in
downtown Reykjavík!
24 June at 17.00 – in collaboration with 12 Tónar (Start and finish at Skólavörðustígur 15)
11 August at 11.00 – in collaboration with Mengi (Start and finish at Óðinsgata 2)
For each event, a local record label will pick an album from their roster that we listen to during the run.
After a short warm-up and album introduction, we press play and set off!
Participants bring their own headphones and listening devices with internet access.
Participation is free – 4-6 km loop (40 mins) – Suitable for all levels as well as people on wheels – We
run with the „Loop Back“ pattern which makes it possible for everybody to keep up*
Physical Cinema Festival (PCF) is a platform for documentaries, video art, micro works, and short
films and is intended as an experimental stage, a playground for all kinds of cinematic works. Physical
Cinema Festival is biennial with smaller events in the years between. The running club is be a warm-
up event for the 2025 edition.
*Fixed route where the faster runners loop back at various points on the route to join the back of the
pack. As the faster runners head back, they “sweep up” other runners, who join them, until everybody
is regrouped at the back of the pack. This allows for everybody to keep their own pace while
remaining part of the group, and eventually run a distance that satisfies their level of fitness – while
still making it a communal experience.
