RED

A mental vision, a perceptual experiment. The visual field transformed by colour. Burning the eyes by dint of seeing. A black, mobile stain within a red, homogeneous, dreamlike universe.A colour of a solid, pulsating density, which presents itself as such, and not as a reference to the vast symbolic universe that has revolved around it for centuries.A body embedded within a monochrome, as if elusive, agile, wounded, creeps nervously into the solid colour, on the threshold, between waves of sonorous heat and sharp caesuras.And something imprints itself on the retina, something that lingers, disappearing and reappearing, without reference to a specific space-time present.

DEHORS/AUDELA

is an artistic duo formed by Elisa Turco Liveri (performer, choreographer) and Salvatore Insana (videomaker, photographer, director). We merge visual and performing art in a continuous process of research, interested in how the different artistic codes may be able to both maintain their specificity and become capable of generating new forms of expression. Our practice consists of a mutual interference, where the center of the dramaturgical texture is constituted by the body and the action, and where video and sound share this physical and organic consistency.

We have always investigated border sites. Interstitials of the present time, not only conceived as physical places, but also as social and anthropological aspects. The indefinite and the hybrid have always been favorite areas of research of us as a collective. In collaboration with other artist and in a constant attempt to overcome genres and use unconventional tools, we have created video-theatrical works, dance performances, audiovisual research projects, urban and photographic installations, experimental workshops.

Their work has been presented at many festivals and venues such: La Briqueterie (Paris), Bozar, Dansecentrumjette (Bruxelles), Eye Museum (Amsterdam), Pool Festival (Berlin), Fabbrica Europa, Cango (Florence), Maxxi, Macro, Teatri di Vetro (Rome), Lavanderia a Vapore (Turin), Loops-Expanded, Proyector Festival(Madrid), Dance & Foco Festival (Rio de Janeiro), Dello Scompiglio (Lucca), Rollout Dance Festival (Macao), Kilowatt Festival,  Sofia Undeground Performance Art Festival, Image Contre Nature (Marseille), International Videoart Forum, Dammam, (Saudi Arabia), Athens Video Dance Project, Asolo Film Festival, Rencontres Internationales Traverse Video, Toulouse, France, Imajitari International Dance Festival, Jakarta, Indonesia, Lisbon Dance Platform, etc. Besides the artistic production, they are active in the educational field, through multidisciplinary didactic workshops and lectures at Academies, Universities, high schools, specific territories.
