THE SAME SKY, THE SAME LOOK. 同一片天空，同一种凝望

The film is an experiment. It was created in collaboration with the organizers of the first edition of the Chinese and Italian Poetry Festival in Rome in 2025. A group of Italian and Chinese poets traveled to Savoy, southern Italy, to celebrate the festival. Each poet recited a poem. Director Edmuund Kurenia took on the challenge of documenting the encounter, but also creating an image, a photograph, and a film for each poem recited by the poet. For a director, it is important to understand that the primary instrument for human communication with the outside world is sight and observation; the second instrument is language. The combination of image and poetry is a pure form of imagination and communication with the world.

Director Bio - EDMUND KURENIA

Edmund Kurenia is a Polish photographer and filmmaker. He primarily works in portrait and lifestyle photography, as well as video art and experimental cinema.

His work is characterized by:

• A contemporary interpretation of neoclassicism: in his works, often in black and white, he strives to capture harmony and eternity, presenting the human body in a manner reminiscent of sculpture.

• An exploration of the contemporary human condition: he is interested in the impact of consumerism, digitalization, and changing values ​​on human identity in the 21st century.

• Dance and film projects: he creates short, experimental, and documentary films.

He collaborates with art galleries, theaters, and art institutions. He finds subjects for his films himself, or they find them for him.
