The dance film Outside in is as a tale about taking something back. The film marks dancer and choreographer Tove Skeidsvoll’s directorial debut in collaboration with photographer Petrus Sjövik. Outside In was filmed at Norrlands- Operan in Umeå, Sweden, and since the premiere then has aired on Swedish television and been shown at numerous international festivals. Among other awards won ”Best Film” at the film festival Dance Camera West in Los Angeles.
Tove Skeidsvoll is a dancer, choreographer, actor and director for live performances and film. Most recent work for film includes upcoming feature film Midsommar by Ari Aster where she acted in front of camera as well as being a choreographic assistant for the film. She has also did choreography for as well as acted in, award winning feature film Sameblod. She is a co-leader of Northern Movement Dance Company – Nomodaco, a group that creates performances and dance art works in the north of Sweden. Tove has done a number of collaborations with NorrlandsOperan, the film Outside in being one of them.
Petrus Sjövik works as a film photographer and director of photography for Tv and film. Among other awards he won the Swedish award Guldbagge for the photo in the feature film “Ömheten” 2014. Tove and Petrus has experimented with combining dance and film since 2004, Outside in is their debut as directors.
